Binod Bista

Of about 41 years of professional experience in the fields of development, corporate governance and international relations, Binod P Bista has spent the last 25 years at home and abroad following and practicing bilateral, regional and international affairs. Besides serving in the capacity of Deputy Permanent Representative of Nepal to the United Nations (NY) in the latter part of 1990s, Mr. Bista spent 5 years in China as Director of Research and Chief Economist of Boao Forum for Asia (2002-2007), an economic forum established in the aftermath of the 1997Asian financial crisis. Earlier, Binod Bista served in the office of Nepal’s Prime Minister as foreign policy specialist (1995). As Advisor to the Institute of Foreign Affairs (2010/11), Binod Bista helped the Nepal based institute conduct several bilateral and regional seminars of value. Earlier Mr. Bista taught international business in colleges of Kathmandu while contributing his ideas through trainings and seminars as well as national weekly English newspapers and regional/international magazine (Asian Affairs-Hong Kong based) on national, bilateral and international issues. Currently, a member of Nepal Council of World Affairs and Nepal Thailand Friendship Association, Mr. Bista is a research scholar at the Malavia Center for Peace Research (MCPR), faculty of social sciences of Banaras Hindu University (BHU), India. He taught conflict management mechanisms to MA level students at MCPR, BHU during his research study in 2013.
