Salina has more than fifteen years of experience, including almost eleven years in the Nepalese Army, around security/political analysis, risk management, conflict sensitivity, GESI, among others. She has extensive research experience on federalism, ethnic conflict, nationalism and identity politics and has carried out research work in Nepal, Sri Lanka, Switzerland and the UK. She also has an experience of being a part of peacekeeping endeavor of the UN in South Sudan as a member of the Nepalese Contingent. She is the recipient of prestigious Chevening scholarship and NORAD-NOMA scholarship. She has been working at ICMS as a visiting faculty since 2016 and is involved in giving lectures on major sociological hazards module which includes aspects of social movements, violence and conflict, including conflict resolution techniques and contemporary theories related to conflict/peace as well as on multi-disciplinary research methods.
