rof. Narbada Thapa is a distinguished academic, public health professional, and former Brigadier General of the Nepal Army, with extensive experience in military service, nursing education, community medicine, and research.

She joined the Nepal Army in 1988 as a Second Lieutenant and rose to the rank of Brigadier General before retiring in 2017. During her distinguished career, she served as the Founding Principal of the College of Nursing and Professor of Community Medicine at the Institute of Medicine, Tribhuvan University.

Prof. Thapa earned her PhD from Prince of Songkla University, Thailand, in 1999, becoming the first PhD holder in the Nepal Army. Her academic and research work has contributed to the fields of community health, women’s health, education, and public health. She has authored more than 23 research articles published in national and international journals and has led research initiatives involving the supervision, coordination, implementation, and evaluation of community-focused projects.
